Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 pound)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 large flour tortillas (10-inch diameter)
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, washed and dried
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze (optional, for drizzling)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (for the dressing, optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for the dressing, optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste (for the dressing, optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by cutting the chicken breasts into even pieces so they cook evenly. This should take about 5 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, mix the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken pieces and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Make sure they do not dry out.
  4. While the chicken is cooking, prepare the tortillas. Place them on a plate and keep them warm by covering them with a clean kitchen towel.
  5. Once the chicken is done, remove it from the skillet and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Then slice it into strips.
  6. On each tortilla, spread some slices of mozzarella, followed by the halved cherry tomatoes and fresh basil leaves.
  7. Place the chicken strips on the tortillas and optionally drizzle some balsamic glaze over them.
  8. Wrap the tortillas from the bottom up to form a tight roll. Cut them diagonally and serve immediately.

Nutrition

Keywords: Be careful not to overcook the chicken as it can become dry. A grill pan can add extra charred flavors to your wraps. Adjust the ratio of mozzarella to chicken for balanced texture, and avoid overfilling the wraps to prevent them from falling apart.
